From DG's Desk

Funds organization since its inception in 01.04.86, has been maintaining the GPF & SLI accounts of the employees of the UT of J&K. GPF account was till then maintained by the Accountant General J&K and only GPF accounts of class IV employees used to be maintained by twoprovincial level office of state Finance Department. Funds Organization also maintains State Life Insurance (SLI) accounts of government employees who subscribe premium to SLI which is mandatory for Govt employees. The GPF as well as SLI subscriptions are deducted monthly from each Government employee pay bill as per rules in vogue. As on date funds organization is maintaining about 3.40 lakh GPF accounts and about one lakh SLI accounts (excluding UT of Ladakh). We have district fund offices in all the districts of the UT of J&K, beside move office in secretariat and police head quarters. District fund offices are headed by CAO / AO and manned by hardworking and dedicated staff of funds organization who in spite of many bottle necks are accomplishing their job in a time bound manner.

It gives me immense pleasure on seeing that our organizations has progressed leaps and bounds in its mission of maintaining the GPF and SLI accounts of our esteemed subscribers in clean and transparent manner. we have been among the first organizations in the erstwhilestate of J&K which shifted its working from manual mode to offline in 2007 and then from offline to online mode during 2018-19. Shifting to online mode, led to complete computerization of all the district funds offices of the UT of J&K, which improved the working of funds organization drastically. The aim was to maximize the technological intervention, to improve the working and provide satisfactory service to our esteemed subscribers.

It is heartening to inform you that in order to take the initiative of maximum technological intervention in the working of funds organization further ahead, organization has started the Real Time Posting of subscriber accounts from the month of August 2020.
